Breast/Formula Feeding

Hello Hello!!

First off, sorry this post is a little delayed. This past weekend was a little hectic and a whirlwind of emotions. However, on the plus side, I got to meet my new baby cousin, Georgia Kate, and was she just a peach! I got some good information/opinions from my aunt dealing with pregnancy, the labor, adjusting to new life, and some good tips on breastfeeding. Which brings me to the topic I want to talk about today, breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding is a wild thing that as moms we get to nourish our newborn babies. To me, it’s crazy how people think they have the right to give their opinions about what you should and shouldn’t do for your baby, especially men. I believe every woman knows that breastfeeding is obviously the best choice for your baby, HOWEVER, do not EVER pressure a female to breastfeed. Sometimes the baby will not latch on, or the milk supply isn’t coming in fast enough or who knows/who cares. There is such a bad stigma on formula feeding, and it really shouldn’t be that way. My brother and I were both formula fed and we came out just fine, well I like to think we did, haha. That is beside the point, as long as the baby is getting fed, it should not matter if it from breast milk or formula.

That all being said, its insane to me that breastfeeding is the way to go, nonetheless don’t do it in public or you’re doing something wrong. Like what the heck people, I’ve heard many stories from ladies who will be breastfeeding and men/women will say something like, “do that somewhere else, or that’s disgusting, or cover yourself!” How about NO! If you do not like it, look elsewhere and mind your own business. They are just boobs people, they will not hurt you.

It’s just crazy how people are so judgmental, saying you need to breastfeed or you are not giving your child the correct nutrients, to them being disgusting by breastfeeding. Truly a double edge sword. I know I will try my best at breastfeeding, give it my all and if I feel the need to switch to formula, then I will happily do it for my child!

On another note, one more week down, 17 more to go! I had a routine check-up appointment on Monday, it was interesting, to say the least. My doctor told me I need to slow down on gaining weight, which thus far I have gained around 10 pounds. Everyone else that I have talked to says I look great and they told me not to stress or worry about it. I’ve eaten healthy, for the most part, so I am just going to keep doing me. She did tell me that everything else seems good, and the baby is healthy. My blood pressure is great, and to keep taking my prenatal vitamin and to add an iron supplement. Also, this week I have felt the baby move around A LOT more, and even seen my stomach move around some. However, Ryan still has not really felt little nugget, every time I try to get him to feel the baby, nugget hides, hahaha. Hopefully, one day soon!

Other than that, not too much more going on! Thank you all again for tuning in. I truly appreciate it, and I know this week might spark some interest with some of their own opinions on breast/formula feedings and that is just fine. Share your stories if you’d like if it was hard or easy, no judgment here! I can’t wait to hear from you guys! Have a great week!

Love You All!
